That temperature window applies when the basic settings procedure is being performed, such as after a mechatronic unit is replaced.

It is not a statement that every routine fluid change requires the procedure to be run.

Whether adaptation is worth doing on a given car depends on the gearbox, the work carried out, and what the live clutch data shows.

On a car that already judders, running the procedure can be a useful diagnostic step, because a clutch that will not adapt into range points towards mechanical wear rather than a software issue.
